It's just the way the pieces are presented.
Nigiri is like a slice of fish or veg placed on top of rice, norimaki and futomaki would be quite similar, rice and filling rolled in seaweed.
Hosomaki I think are just smaller rolls with a single or simple filling and sashimi is just sliced fish or meat.

It tells you what they are in english on the link you posted. OIf the simialrity of the description confused you, its because they are similar.

Nigiri: Rice ball with a slice of filling Example

Norimaki: sushi rolled in seaweed with filling. Maki=roll, nori=seaweed sheets Example

Futomaki: Big sushi roll with filling, aka Fat roll. Example

Hosomaki: small sushi rolled in seaweed, aka thin roll Example

Temaki: Hand roll. Similar to the above rolls, but rolled in a cone to hold in you hand. Usually rolled to order which improves them a lot. Example
Also the pre-rolled take away sushi at stalls. Example

Sashimi: Strips of raw fish, ironically not a type of sushi, but what everyone usuals think sushi is. Example

I always skip the sushi and go straight for the Sashimi and then get a bowl of sushi rice at end to fill up on.
