Hi, I'm looking for information on a yellow bowl that I've found, it has a gold 'Y' on the base and there's a painting of steam train and horses with 'Midland express' written beneath it, the rim also has gold paint on it. It belonged to my grandmother.

It's English by the sound of it. Any chance of a picture? :)

The gold 'y' is most likely the decorators mark - gilders worked seperately to other decorators and potters.

put up a pic of the whole base rather than the mark alone.
