    Hi guys,

I am a little confused as to the process I need to take.

Have a learner permit for my C licence which I renewed a few weeks back, originally got the permit going years back.

I sat the test years ago and failed it and its bugging me as I honestly thought I done enough to pass. Anyway long story short want to go back and re sit the test.

I will not be driving for a profession so as it stands am I ok to sit my C licence test just having my learner permit or is there other things CPC related I also need regardless if I will be driving for a living or not ?

    Thanks in advance

Only truck learner under 21 and bus learners under 24 have to take CPC case studies before getting their permit. Since you already have your permit, you don't need to worry about CPC unless you ever wish to driver professionally.

In fact, if you were to drive your truck in the course of other work then you won't need CPC eg a builder that uses a small truck for ad hoc routine fetching and carrying won't have to take CPC as he is not a 'professional driver'. If that builder became sufficiently busy that he had to hire a driver to work full time tending various sites, then, as a professional driver, that employee would need CPC.
