    Hi,

So I just bought a Marantz NR1606 "AV surround receiver". The idea is that I can have a number of HDMI inputs connected to it.
I can then select which input connects to my TV.

So my satellite box works flawlessly (in terms of sound and picture), however when I select my mac mini the picture "blinks" once every 3 seconds. When the mac mini is connected directly to the TV (using a HDMI cable) it works perfectly. I have tried various HDMI cables and different inputs no the Marantz unit, all to no avail.

A quick Google shows that I am not alone, but so far I have been unable to find a solution. Any suggestions??

    Thanks.

Not an answer you are looking for, but I had similar issue with my previous sat box ( I know it isn't the sat box you have issue with).
All other sources were working fine so ended up with connecting it directly to the TV and feeding the sound from the TV to receiver.

I could not find a solution, did try all kind of settings, but the picture was unstable. It was a cheapo sat box, and after replacing it with newer model it worked just fine ( same av receiver and tv)

I hope someone will bring you better news :)

I might suggest that you try using the air play function of the marantz (not sure if the new models support video) . Flickering usually stems from a hdmi handshake issue. If it's an old mini try updating the firmware on the board.
Other than that using if you have one, use an ATV to receive the video / audio wirelessly.

This is exactly what I did.

HDMI from mac mini directly to TV. I then switched on ARC so that the sound is sent to the Marantz unit via the other HDMI.

Air play works for audio. Did not try it for video (yet).
My understanding is that it only works for iTunes content, which much of my content isn't. Also the only display I have for my mac mini is the TV.

Yes, so I have been told. I talked to Compu B.

They simply did not understand why I wanted to use the Marantz at all and told me to go directly to the TV with the HDMI. Their position was that there is no issue with the mac mini as it works directly with the TV.

    Done.

    What is an ATV ?
