    Hello,

I have been offered a place in AIT. Does anyone commute from Dublin?

I am considering renting in Celbridge and driving out everyday. I need to be near Dublin for missuses job. Looking at 1.15hrs drive each way and probably 500 a month in petrol and tolls.

Would appreciate any advice here. Thanks!

If you were to live in athlone the most you would have to pay for rent is no more than 300 a mth. Honestly it's actually cheaper to live in athlone and drive home at weekends. Not to mention you wouldn't have the college social life if you commuted every day

Thanks karina19, unfortunately not an option for me at the moment but I appreciate the reply.

I'll be a mature student returning to college and the girlfriend's job is in Dublin so we were thinking of both commuting from Cellbridge. Looks feasible but would be two hours commuting out of both of our days.

    Hi there,

Check out http://www.aitsu.ie/accommodation.html for everything on accommodation including houses, digs and apartments if you change you mind on that!

For buses/car sharing check out www.getthere.ie and you might see somebody else going from the same direction. It is a long day when commuting on the bus just so you know!

Hey, i'll be commuting from lucan, i'm expecting to be paying about 60-70 euro a week in fuel, then add the tolls, it'd be pretty price to commute up and down alone. I'd suggest taking the bus or car pooling.

I'll see what the situation is in september and I might look to carpool with people myself.

Slightly off topic, but Citylink go right to the door of the college and they will get you there for 9am (westbound, eastbound will get you there for 9:15am). If you are on the route just use them, as much as I've had issues with Citylink in the past, it doesn't make sense to drive.
