They generally look for it to be in the house as a shed is unoccupied and you could go days/weeks at a time without been in there.

do not know the answer sniperman but the shed would have to be well insulated or the guns will get damp and rust

Inside the house would be the preference I am sure, but with most districts having a different approach, the only answer to that question that will satisfy your local Super, will come from him.

Call and ask them, arrange a visit to your house and get their advice. It's a lot easier than just putting it somewhere and getting an inspection at a later date and finding out they are not happy with the location.

    Best of luck

I know a few lads that have them in the shed/garage,the house alarm connected to the shed, no issues with GS,

And if you can manage it upstairs or the attic, that makes them even happier.Theoy is;No theif wants to get caught in a place they cant get out of.IE upstairs or in a no way out place like an attic.

    3

Two restricted firearms, or more than three non-restricted firearms.

Each firearm shall be stored in a gun safe which complies with BS 7558 and which shall be securely fixed to a solid structure. The place in which the firearms are stored shall have an alarm fitted and the external doors to the place shall be fitted with locks which comply with BS 3621.

You can use a shed/garage provided it complies to the appropriate level of security that you are required to have.

I have highlighted level 3 security so you would want the external doors to the shed to be BS 3621 compliant. My shed at home had a monitored alarm, PIR etc. but wasn't compliant because there was a big ugly padlock locking the door and not a lock that was compliant to BS 3621.

Just tell her no, defend your land at all costs ;)

Jokes aside, the security issue is one concern but the other equally important concern is the risk of damp etc.

    Thanks,

sheds would need an alarm and what the shed is make off eg a wooden shed would be no good as other post said it depends on your fire arms officers.your shed would probably have lots off tools in it to help any thief to have a go at the safe
