    Do people still actually sign up to these direct debits to charities anymore ? From what I understood a large part goes into salaries

    In answer to your question; Of course people still sign up. The existence of so many monthly DD donations proves so.

    I still DD to some. whats the alternative? Adopt a street child from Brazil? Give to beggers? The first is not an option and the second is worse again.

    What I dont understand is why so many charities exist for the same causes, I read few UN / humanitarian disaster true stories and aparantly in addition to the amount that goes on admin, another chunk is spent beating the other charities to cases.The ones that deal with internation aid are like businesses competing for the same contracts.

    I said it before but when Ronan setup his foundation, was there not already a dozen that he could have just supported and helped financially and PR wise?
