Air source heat pumps - actual componants needed

I am trying to piece together the actual componants needed for the above to try price and also to see if I can fit it into the small space I have in my terraced bungalow. So far I have:

    -The outdoor unit
-an indoor control box (not 100% sure what this is for, can't find any info online but seems needed, and about €1000 I think!)
-indoor cylinder and a buffer tank

Am I missing out anything? What does the indoor control unit do? Also is a buffer tank needed? I'm stuck for space so don't know if I can fit it all in. I've seen combined water and buffer tanks. I believe the buffer tank is to stop the outdoor unit being on all the time. Will the buffer tank ever recoup the €1000 price tag? Really hard to see prices online also.

    Thanks in advance
