Opinions on these 1.000€ steel/pvc doors (from SM Solution)

Has anyone got front doors from a company in Wexford called SM Solution?

I was quoted around 1.000-1.100 euro for a front door (plus fitting costs), with the following specs:

    1600mm (width) x 2050mm (height)

"These doors are made of steel sheet with PU foam inside and PVC veneer finish, equipped with two locks and 8 locking points around the door, hinges are hidden in the frame with locking bolts."

On their website they have pictures and testimonials, but I tend not to trust too much these things.

U values are advertised at 1.3, which seems high if it relates to the door, as similar values are usually for double glaze windows!

They also sell "class 2 security" certified doors, but I doubt these are the ones I got on my quote, I will confirm this soon.
Do Palladios and Apeer come with a similar certification? Is that overkill for most people or not?

    Thanks.

Can't answer your question but I had a look on their website and it's truly awful, worst site I've seen in a while.

yeah, however I'm not too concerned about that.

After some investigation, I have seen what doors certified at level 3, 4 look like (for example, I found them on the website securitycertifieddoors dot ie).
They look much stronger than the regular ones (Palladio, Apeer, etc.) and are probably much more expensive (I asked for a quote, we'll see).

I don't see the point in getting a high security door while thieves could easily brake the window next to my main door, to gain entry, unless I can protect the window as well.
I have a modern alarm system installed though, this should be a good deterrent itself for most thieves, as in my area they seem to mainly target houses with no alarm installed, being able to operate quietly and with no rush.

I am now more focused on heat retention and modern finish.
This company I am checking seems to offer competitive prices but mediocre U values, I will know more in the next few days.

    Hi.
I read that review because I want find out something about SM Solution. My neighbor get door from this company and looks really good. But anyway I prefer check before buy anything. I ask them about the price and technical information. They told me that they don't have this cheap doors in offer anymore. Selling Premium quality door now, so I order from them. I found them in Facebook. They have many pictures from installation and testimonials. I let you know when get it.

I've decided to replace my front door + garden door + 3 windows + bay window. I'd spent some time for research, and I choose SM Solutions.
IMO they have high price/quality ratio. Effects? I'm happy. House became silent and way warmer. For example, when there is a rainy, windy day and I stay in my living room I have no idea that weather is so bad outside until I look through the window. When I go upstairs (I got standard, 12 yo, Irish windows there) it sounds like there is a storm out there. The difference is just overwhelming. Ppl who visit me comment front door and bay window very often. Mostly because they look modern and solid, and what is most important for me, the door opens outwards (so I can save space inside), and there is no door mailbox (!!!).

Lastly, the crew left my home clean and tidy after the work has been completed. Nothing was either dirty or destroyed.
I recommend them. I know it is hard to give a try to something new. I did, and I'm satisfied.
If you need more info, PM me or ask here.

    best
