Anyone else find glycolic cleanser broke them out at first? Should I stop with it or power through? Thinking it could just be the clogged pores coming to the surface.

If you did power through with it, how often did you use? How long did they break outs last for?

Its the nip and fab one I got!

Anything with a chemical exfoliant in it is going to break you out a first it's called purging its the chemical exfoinat bring any clogs to the surface. If your getting deep cystic acne however then its not purging. If your purging just keep using the cleanser and it will stop soon.

Out of curiosity OP, what cleanser are you using, and what's the percetage of glycolic acid? It might be a bit strong for you if you're having a reaction to it. I recently started using the Pixi Glow Tonic which is 5% glycolic acid (after using the Clarins toner which is 2%) and I've been getting on really well with it, no break outs!

It's the nip+fab glycolic 2% cleanser! The breakouts seemed to be just normal enough but I noticed this evening two of the spots (sorry for the TMI) are a little bit sore so I think I might just leave it? Is there anything else that would do a similar job for skin texture that maybe isn't as harsh. My skin doesn't like manual exfoliation either!

Starting out I only used it twice a week, then I built up to using it every day after taking off my make up. I use the extreme night pads in the morning if I'm having a make up free day.
I have some pics before and after if you want I'll pm you!

Definitely an 'it gets worse before it gets better' with a glycolic acid product.

It's a chemical exfoliant and sloughs off the top layers of your skin and increases the turnover bringing any underlying nastiness to the surface. It appears that that happens all at once and is terrifying. It'll be over for sure in about a month. I have active breakouts for about 2 and a half weeks when I start then it takes another 2 weeks for the marks to fade and then I'm delighted with the results. Awful for the first bit though! I usually stop products like chemical exfoliants during the summer and restart in the winter and it follows the same pattern each time.

Same thing for a salicylic acid product too.
