Replacing Shower

Hi, I recently bought a replacement shower. I got a friend to have a look and he said that the existing shower I have is a pumped shower and can't be replaced with the electric shower I bought? One we have is a triton t90si and one I bought is a triton Alicante.
Is he right, I'm outside the window to return the new one, is there a way around this or do I have to get another pumped shower?

Any help greatly appreciated, or anyone want to buy a triton alicante it will be on adverts over the coming days 😕

Mains fed is what you got so a new water mains fed would have to be installed.

Is that a big job? Worth doing or cheaper to buy another pump shower instead, thanks for the reply

Mains fed showers aren't great for most of Ireland as our water pressure is not good enough. The pumped electric shower was more or less designed for the Irish market.

In short it's down to your water pressure. If you have great pressure then a mains fed shower can be a good choice. They make no noise as there is no pump. If your pressure is anyway dodgy put in the pumped electric shower. What happens with a mains fed shower is if pressure drops below 1 bar (3/4 bar on the good showers) it won't active the pressure switch. This means no electricity getting to the element & a cold shower. There are people in parts of Dublin with mains fed showers and some only work from midnight to 7am. Off peak.

I think his point is It's simpler to put in another t90 rather than repipe for a mains fed shower that may or may not work properly. Installing the wrong shower just because they bought the wrong shower isn't really the best way to go

    Oh my god....

I said it's a mains fed what they got.

It's up to them whether change pipes or new pumped shower.

Best option would be replace like for like did anyone read my post.
