Hey All looking for some advise. The ASC + Brake + ABS Warning Lights came on in my car and wont go off, When it happened there appears to be a noise coming from under the bonnet so i popped the bonnet and it appears to be a motor of some sort which the noise was coming from and kept running from even after i turned engine off, I fiddled around with this and managed to disconnect it, Now not only are those 3 lights on but speedometer + Mileage arent working and Petrol/Fuel gauge are going up and down like a child's seesaw

Prior to all of this there is another issue, when trying to start the car all dash lights and car lights flash but engine isnt ticking over and starting, its almost like the battery is dead but yet its a new battery so kinds stumped here.

Any advise would be really appreciated

Was the battery just swapped out - or did did you have it re-programmed with the diagnostic software?

I had a very similar issue recently, where it ended up being a rear ABS sensor. But given your description I would want to get the battery tested before going down any other routes.

Yes was thinking that as may explain the starting issue but the motor i had to disconnect as it wouldnt turn off which i believe to be the ABS + ASC unit i doubt is been caused by the Battery ? Then again i could be wrong

Never rule out the battery in a Beemer or a Merc until it's been properly tested.

Sounds like your ABS module is knackered, you can get them rebuilt for about €250-€300. A bad speed sensor wouldn't cause the module to activate by itself.

Did the sound under the bonnet sound anything like this at the 2:30 mark?

The other issue sounds battery/alternator/starter motor related.

Brake/ABS on periodically is a wheel speed sensor or rear shaft causing wear to the sensor. Mine's intermittent enough that it's casually ignored but will need doing eventually.
