Pericoronitis, lower right side.

    Hello

I have what I think is pericoronitis.
My gum is raised up and sore/inflamed right beside my last molar on the lower right hand side.

As far as I know, this isn't a wisdom tooth (or if it is, it is not causing any issues; it has grown perfectly) but the gum is quite tender.
It tends to be more sore in the morning time but settles down after a few hours.

I was at the dentist recently for a wisdom tooth extraction (upper right side) and he checked all my other teeth and said they were all fine.
My question is; if this is pericoronitis, can I treat it myself?

I have a Medical Card too so I was wondering, if I did need to visit the dentist, would I be covered, or would this be charged?
I've had a check-up, a filling and an extraction in the past month, plus a scale and polish (which I paid for myself).

I was just wondering what my options are here; treat it myself or see a dentist?
I've been gargling with warm salty water and that tends to help a little bit.

Or is this something my GP could treat?
Any help is greatly appreciated guys.
