Insurance discount for second car?

    Hi, I got my insurance renewal today - and after seeing some horror stories here the renewal price was much better than I expected. On closer examination of the details it includes an endorsement which states;

    "Second Car Endorsement - Your premium is calculated, subject to there being a second car in your household belonging to you or your partner, which is currently insured under a motor policy and the driving option on your policy is 'insured and partner'"

    We do have a second car in our household currently insured with the same company (Aviva) but it is going to be renewed with a different company just before my renewal.

    Is this just to make sure that we have the use of a second car? or is this relating to a multi-car discount?

    Use only. Aviva give separate discounts other Aviva policies. Allianz, Footprint and ARB all do this as well.
