Debt owed, but parts of charge when a child.

So my situation is that I was made aware that I owe debt of €180 from 4 years ago to a dentist institute for treatment today. I got a lot of work done here, and my parents paid to their full knowledge all what we owed. There were issues aswell with faulty work (improper fittings that were swolled) and large overcharging.

About a third of the debt was from when I was under 18, and the rest was a week or two after I turned 18. As a final year student, I don't have much of an income or no assets to pay. I also plan to emigrate in a month.

So my question is 1. Can you be chased for debt when under 18? 2. Can debts be chased up after 4 years? 3. Can they do anything if I leaved the country?

If you can finance leaving the country you can finance the debt, it will otherwise be waiting for you if you ever return.

You have a contract law book in your adverts.ie link in your sig. Look up minors and contracts for necessities in that book and should be able to answer your own question.
