I'm teaching Caitheamh Aimsire to my 2nd class and I'm not sure which is corect?, is it 'ta broga sacair ar an Pól' or 'ta broga sacair ar Pól?

"ar Phól". The preposition "ar" takes a séimhiú when it refers to being "on" something in particular.

"An" is the definite article, so you'd never need to use that with a person's first name (although it does turn up in certain cases with surnames, e.g. An Riardánach = THE Ó Riardán )
