Has anyone played Cahir Park gc? They have a good distance membership rate. Am thinking of joining to keep my handicap going. What is course like, any pro shop/practise area, is there a pavilion etc?
    Tnx!

Played there a few weeks ago. Nice course. Its not a long course but there are some good holes on it. It was a bit wet but given the time of year etc, most course are... Greens were good and had been sanded but still rolled very well and were challenging. I would say they are super greens in the summer. There's a good practice area there too.

I played there a few weeks back. Excellent and challenging greens. Very soft ground in the back 9 by the river.

We are living in Cork City and are joining Dundrum. Great rate for distance membership and we really enjoy the course and it's a tough track. 4 of us joining so sharing the driving and should get 15 - 20 games in there over the year I suppose.

Friends are in Cahir Park and it does get fairly wet up there, so you might be looking to avail of the place April - September only anyway so might suit your needs alright.

I played it yesterday and thought it was in top order, almost too dry. Greens were lightning, approaches hopping on and off, andgenerally in great order. Only like that last 3 weeks as the place took a hammering over the winter.
4 quid for 50 balls on a nice range with plenty of markers and targets.
The pro I have used the last few years as he's willing to negotiate and will match most other places on price(he's usually one of the cheaper). Well stocked too.

Only ever have a coffee scone but there's usually a billboard with offers on which I don't normally heed.
A place I enjoy playing but it can play very short at times. Not a very stiff test of the game imo.

Was a member there for my whole life up to the last year or two. Just pay green fees for different courses the whole time now since I'd get no value out of paying membership there.

The course is nice and is usually in good knick. The back 9 (across the river especially - 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) is pretty boring though.

It's a small pro shop but the owner is v. helpful. There's a driving range, pitching area and two putting greens too.
