Anyone know where ZV numbers are at present in Dublin & or Monaghan?

    I have a car on its way across the Atlantic and am doing my homework about the plates I'll be placing on the car. I might (stress, might!) consider putting a reserved number on the car if I got the right one hence my question!

    While I'm here does anyone know if you can still register a car on say a 77 D and then change over to a ZV number? If you still can does anyone know where 77 D reg numbers are up to now?

    I just figured out if I put in ZV numbers into Cartell.ie it tells you if it exists so then to answer some of my own questions Dublin is up to ZV 10870+ and Monaghan is up to ZV 63378+ and I also found out from Eireplates.com that the 1977 year plates for Dublin is up to 77 D 120XXX.

    Does anyone know if the transfer can still be done from year to ZV?

    Every D plate starts at 120xxx up to 2012

    You will get a plate reading '77 D 120001', or higher.

    You could check on cartell.ie - i.e. keep inputting 77D120001, 77D120002, etc etc until it says 'plate does not exist' - this would give you an idea of the next issue in the '77D' range

    As for Monaghan plates - I would guess that they are in the '77MN6001' or '77MN7001' range.

    I tired cartell earlier in the week and couldn't get a hit at all but using 120,000+ I see now the highest number for 77 D is 120,014!
    I want to use Dublin for the year registration first as I would then change to a Dublin ZV later when the number comes up that I really want. if I use Monaghan then the ZV numbers are crap imo. Thanks for your help! :)

    For 2011 and 2012 they are (or were) 11D4xxxx or 12D4xxxx
