Underfloor Heating Problem

    Hi,

Our Underfloor Heating system has been working fine for the last 18 months or so since installation. Last week it broke down.

What happens is the pump cuts out when the temperature dial under the pump reaches around 40-45 degrees. This all happens within the space of 5 minutes when the system comes on.

I have come to the conclusion that the thermostat regulating the heat of the water coming from the boiler may not be working and as such the temperature of the water is too hot as it enters the manifold.

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply anthonyos. Please bear in mind this system was working properly for at least 18 months before the breakdown. Are you saying that it has stopped working because it is incorrectly piped? If so could I ask you to elaborate please?

    Thanks

Check the pump impeller is turning while the time clock is on, unscrew the stainless steel flat head screw in the centre of the housing to check, make sure the white thermostatic valve on the rh side of the manifold is operating and not stuck closed, just unscrew and remove it and run the boiler again, and lastly make sure the manifolds aren't airlocked
