Do you have to apply at your official "local" Intreo centre

Looking at the welfare.ie site, the office that officially covers my area is further away, more expensive and more hassle to get to than another one close by. Does anyone know if you can apply for JB at an intreo centre other than your local one or do you have to apply to the one that officially covers your area? I've tried to contact both offices about this but one keeps hanging up on me before I get through for some reason and the other's phone kept ringing for about half an hour.

Why only call those two? Call others; they can tell you whether you have to go to your local one or not.

You will have to make your claim in the office that covers your area.

    That doesn't even make sense.

    What doesn't make sense?

    Local Office = Local Area.

Parnell St. Intreo covers Dublin 1, 3 and 9. Handy if you live in Dublin 1.

Cork St. Intreo covers Dublin 2, 4 and 8. Handy if you live in Dublin 8. And so on around the nation.

The most you'll need to sign on is once every three months for JA. Unless you've been put on daily signing which is a sign they don't like you anymore.
