    Hi lads

I got a vw caddy maxi van from the company I work for.. The radio reciption is very very patchy. I live in cork city and had no issues in either of my two previous vans. There seems too be no aerial either on the van

Possibly the windscreen was changed and not done right, this can cause crap reception.

How could I get this checked?

It may be in the service book, or ask the owner.

For other's general info, the antenna is built into the windscreen and if the screen is changed sometimes they don't hook up the connection right.

It's a company van several lads have owned it and moved on too other companies now. I may ask in a windscreen place can it be checked... It's very very frustrating

    A very simple aerial test,
Firstly tune your radio to a station that you are not happy with the quality of the reception. Next you remove the aerial from the back of the radio . In place of the aerial insert a piece of wire into the aerial socket . Your body plus piece of wire are now taking the place of the aerial. If reception improves then it is obvious your aerial is faulty and no fault with the radio

So I removed the radio.. Found the aerial in the bottom cornor. There's two black cables leaving then under the stearing wheel. One I imagine is connected too the "aerial" that's glued too my windshield I'm not sure where the second wire is going then. I've connect some cable too the silver aerial connection at the back of the radio and have the bit of cable placed on top of the dash at the moment too see if it helps
