    I usually add a drop of whiskey but don't have any left. Do you think Port would work?

    Brandy or rum or poteen or even Cointreau would be better if you could get your hands on some? I can't imagine the flavour of port complementing it to be honest.
    I've also used stout and Smithwicks instead of whiskey in the past with lovely results!

    No I just used a splash of it instead of the whiskey (a bit more than I would have used of the whiskey, and I reduced the amount of tea to compensate). It gave a slight kind of malty flavour? V nice anyway!
