    Hey guys,

Heading to NY next week and from looking at some restaurant reviews on line they say no jeans for dress code - how strict is this - if i'm going out for dinner at night - what should i be wearing if not jeans? -

If they say it, they most likely mean it.

    Think chinos, trousers (cord etc).

Even if there's no strict dress code, the better dressed you are, the better the table you'll get. Show up in scruffy casuals and they will put you in a dark corner - your choice. It's no big deal in the daytime except for really exclusive joints but for an evening dinner anywhere, it's worth making the effort.
