    Hi
Can you help, we are thinking of going to Tenerife but don't know which resort. We want a bit of life but not the play del Americans or anything too clubby. We are both in our 40s like a nice beech, nice restaurants in particular seafood and maybe a few drinks in a bar with live music nothing too wild but not too quiet either. Any suggestions
    S

Costa Adeje down south might suit you. Los Cristianos is quieter than Playa de las Americas. It's ok but not great. Puerto de la Cruz in the north is really nice but the beaches are not great. They are of the black gravel type. Teresitas beach near Santa Cruz is lovely but it's just a beach where the locals go and nothing else there. So I would probably say Costa Adeje might best suit you.

If rambling is your bag then there are lots of great trails.

Anaga region ( North East ) - Base yourself somewhere like Santa Cruz / La Laguna

Teno region ( North West ) - Icod would be a base ( its a business town rather than a tourist/resort town )

Yes, Costa Adeje would be best. Basically anywhere northwards from the Jardin Tropical hotel up to La Caleta would be a good location for what you want. Any further south than there is more Las Americas and most likely wouldn't suit. Loads of nice hotels and apartments to suit all budgets in Costa Adeje.

Just back from Tenerife - We stayed in El Sauzal on the north of the Island. Lots of nice restaurants, which are considerably cheaper than the equivalents on the south of the Island. It is an hour from the Airport in the south however and driving is a requirement - but if you are looking for something different than the resorts looking at a villa on airbnb in the area is worth considering. Weather is not as predictable than the south of the Island.

Playa de las arenas in the north west of island is lovely laid back place with nice restaurants and beach.

Me and my boyfriend went to Los Cristianos in the south last month and really enjoyed it. Busy but not too busy. Plenty of restaurants and places for drinks. It did quieten down by around 12/1 at night we found but it's right beside playa americas where nightclubs and bars opened til the early hours so we just went onto to there if we felt like a late one. Lovely beach as well.
