Garda vetting one cannabis conviction

    I think I have a cannabis conviction from 2002 (unsure if probation act was applied or not but I paid a fine), it's my only time in court other than a motoring offence where I failed to pay a speeding fine on time. Will it show on Garda vetting for a job in the security industry?

    The Garda Vetting Unit apply an administrative filter where minor offences aren't disclosed.

    Your conviction being over 7 years old looks like it wouldn't be disclosed under the filter.

    Thanks, I kinda figured that but wasn't certain. I don't want to disclose it and have said I've got none, I'm hoping it wouldn't bite me in the arse.
