I just bought a mk6 golf and looking for alloys to buy now. I've seen ones the gtd 17". Would 17" be to small for my car? Or any other suggestions for alloys

Is it a 3dr or 5dr Golf? What colour?

My favourite alloys are the Vancouver alloys but they are sometimes hard to get and may be too big for the car as they are 18" (I'll let someone else decide, just my opinion).

I don't think 17" would be too small. Tyres would still be reasonable enough to buy and you wouldn't sacrifice much comfort/be overly worried about damaging them.

Ideally if you could find some original VW ones with good tyres.

I have found original mk6 gtd with 225/45 Michelle alpine a4 all season tyres. In good condition. Only bought after last summer and taken off after winter due to new tyres been bought. But I don't know anything about tyres. Giving me a price of 650 for alloys and tires

You'd probably pay at least €450 for the tyres new. If the tyres have lots of tread and aren't damaged then I wouldn't say that's a bad deal.
I'm not suggesting the tyres are worth the same as new ones, but if you had to buy a set of tyres new for 17s you'd have to budget €400ish for decent ones (I just got Falkens for €75 each plus €10 fitting, just for an idea)
