I would say depends on the nature of the business.
A Daren shed is ancillary to the main dwelling and if you were doing paperwork, draughting, running a business from it is say you may be fine having it classed as a home office.
Now, if you were running a workshop, or hair saloon or nail saloon etc from it then that's a different kettle of fish

I say yes, especially reading what KC wrote.

You need to talk to the LA where you live.
Dog grooming is essentially a hair salon as mentioned by KC.
The issue is not just the business but the traffic generated and the impact of the comings and goings.
    Barking dogs wont be popular.
In addition, the small print on your PL and PI insurance may say that compliance with planning and all other regs is required.
    Commercial water usage perhaps also

It would be my opinion also that planning is required for this type of venture and there's a good chance it would be refused.

You will also have some sort of intervention from HSE, animal regulations etc etc

Okay many thanks for the information, it's my neighbours that have started this business. I saw no planning notice when the shed was being built, nor before they started building. They have dogs themselves which are a nightmare as it is, an now more dogs coming an going barking on an off all day. We live on a small private housing estate. With 1 or 2 being owned by council!

Report to Planning Enforcement section of the council and let them investigate.
    Your details are not released.

Planning definitely needed. Impact on neighbouring amenity is main issue.
