    Hi all.

Hubby is looking for a pair of steel toe safety shoes/trainers-preferably trainer, must be fully black.

A lot of them are quite expensive so just wondering can anyone recommend a good comfortable pair/brand that they have used. He would be on his feet for a long day. Thanks

TBH it really depends on what is comfortable for him, he will be wearing them for roughly 8hrs per day. If he's employed by a company and they are not on their list of 'approved' footwear he can add the remaining cash to get something that is more suitable for him.
There are a number of suppliers but he really needs to do the footwork (no pun ) and go looking.
I've had some horrendous safety shoes which are like weights on my feet, but with new materials being used I'm sure he'll source the best that suits him. Try and stay away from the cheaper ones....you can't put a price on safety.

Not saying that every employee is entitled to purchase top price shoes but the employer has a duty to ensure that the PPE is suitable and reasonably comfortable for the tasks and individual involved.

The only time an employee should pay part of the cost is if the employee uses the PPE privately!

Is a steel plate in sole required, perhaps not, but you need to check spec, also marking floors can be an issue with some.
