I must hate money because I think that Jim Culloty's horse Spring Heeled has a serious chance at out running its odds of 33/1 tomorrow. Best form for it has always been over good ground, which it has tomorrow. This natural chaser will be coming into this race fresh at the end of a long slog of a season, so I would not be surprised to see it doing well.

Jamie spencer may win first at haydock and first race at Doncaster evening meeting, could be a jockey to follow today

The day that's in it, gonna do the Mullins 4 Timer for small monies works out about 25/1 with Powers Voix Du Reve, V Lido, UDS & Vroom Vroom.

    A patriotic bet!

Tough cards today so just some small ew bets for interest

    DAREBIN 2.20 16/1
Only C&D winner in the race and had DUKE ST 3 1/2L behind on that occasion and is 7lbs better off with that horse.

    COULSTY 4.00 Leicester 12/1
Won race last year off same mark and has a race under his belt so should be ready today

    At Sandown:

    Voix du Reve

    Valseur Lido

    Sire de Grugy

    Carole's Destrier, Sir Des Champs

    Vaniteux

    Volnay de Thaix

    Kilcrea Vale

snap, snap, snap think VVV could be really up against it in that race.

Fantastic card all the same. Have to feel sorry for punchestwn next week there is going to be some poor races.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 262 ✭✭oPATCHo

I also think VVV is vulnerable today, wont be backing her at them prices. Vaniteux for me on Hills (money back if second)

Cant decide on Sprinter or UDS. Then again, how much did the QM take out of Sprinter - that was a huge effort, has that left enough of a mark? Hard to say. UDS was also below par last April after taking the Arkle. Should be better suited today with the absence of a front runner

I initially discounted SDG, however he'll be more suited to Sandown (3111), never was keen on him around Cheltenham. Yes he has 5L to find on UDS, and 1L to find on Sprinter outside the festival form, but Gary Moore seems to find the best our of his horses that this track. Pain me to type this, love Sprinter, he is a beast, and I really hope he wins... but could SDG cause an upset??

How in the name of god does Cooper still have that job, thought he was woeful there. If he was going to bottle the last why was he bateing the horse after the second last.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,722 ✭✭✭posturingpat

Oscar rock and Carole's Destrier in the big handicap for me.

Un De Sceaux and Vroum Vroum double too and a fairly hefty single in UDS. Fully expect him to win.

Was going to smash into UDS but have no confidence in Townend, bizarre ride on Ballycasey hasnt helped me!

Hell be grand it's a matter of point and steer. Won't see a rival.

P.S I think he's a cracking jock personally and Ballycaseys a complete and utter hound.

Love listening to you, ffs. Goddam it!!

In college with flu, rowed in on UDS after reading your post, back onto phone read the race time as 3:55 and thought thats a large gap and missed the ****ing thing.

Thats the end of the trainers too

My god what a legend Sprinter Sacre is, the comeback of all comebacks this season.

    UDS needs bad ground.

There's a running and riding enquiry into it. Be surprised if there's a ban though just looked badly judged.

It's hilarious (not really) that the site went down just as I was placing a bet on the BET365 Gold Cup. F*****g hilarious!

Have to agree here. Dont think he was great on either of Willie's horses today....and not for the first time. Id be thinking his time is up as stable jock to Gigginstown shortly.

Probably in a strop because he couldn't win the trainers title.

Next week's Punchestown stayers hurdle became a significantly easier target since VVM was declared for Sandown, with Thistlecrack's withdrawal. Very annoying and I hope he gets a fine but understandable why he's done it.

Cooper is one of the most under appreciated sportsmen. Gave Don Cossack a cracking ride in the Gold Cup and showed up all the Russell fans who thought Don Poli would be a different horse with him riding at Aintree.

Gets way too much stick than he should.

One decent ride out of how many though.spends most of his time on the deck and when he does have every chance he is almost always out foxed by better jockeys as can be seen today on Valseur Lido

Alcala NR as well now :pac:

Mullins 100% right to take out VVM. Why run her in a nothing listed Hurdle in Sandown when there's a G1 in Punchestown next week. Anyone complaining... have a word

Stopped clock and all that, won't touch anything he rides over fences.

Only watched the celebration chase there, it was like Townend never saw the horse before or bothered talking to Ruby

    Bollox to that.

Horse was declared, she should run.
Pity the fine wasn't more, or ban the horse for a month would have been good.

He nearly had his leg amputated 2 yrs ago. He's 23. He's still learning.

He was a better jockey before the break and he has lost his bottle.

The ride on Lido was typical of Cooper, he was panickey when he was all over the winner 3/4 out, he goes after the horse when previously would have held him together and just look at the last fence. Horse didnt have a clue what he was being asked, ridden up to it, handbrake pulled and bundled over it losing all momemtum.

UDS hates good ground and has been known to throw in a clanger. Hes been beaten handy by Sprinter Sacre twice now. What good would talking to Ruby do anyway seen as he couldnt get near SS either?

He prefers softer ground, he made mistakes at most fences, he was restraining him and chasing him to go forward and as Sprinter made his move UDS made a shuddering mistake.

In any case Sprinter is back to his best and even Vautour would struggle with him imo.

Willie acted in a disgraceful manner yet again and anybody denying that should have a word.

Expected nothing less from me? Huh? Not sure what you mean by that but ok.

Couldn't disagree more with you. Title challenge was over, race meant nothing. Acted in the best interests of his owners and the horse. Hardly disgraceful. People love to spend others money and lecture them on how to do things. They own the horse so they can do what they like with the f-ing thing. You may not agree with it but that's how the world works. They already brought that horse to Ascot and Cheltenham, nearly all firms gave refunds and they paraded the horse if people were that fkin devastated they didn't get to see it race. My heart bleeds for them.
