Hi. As per title. I made the trench with the ridger and set the spuds. When i went to split the drills and cover spuds the spuds were coming out the side and everywhere. How do.you best do this. Do u start at the hedge or in the middle.of them? Thanks

Start at the headland. Its a bit of an art, driving the front wheels on top of the ridge. Good few years since I did that.
Take is slow with constant very small corrections of your line. Any veering will pull the ridger out of the drill. Stop and reverse if you veer off any bit.

Watwr john thanks for reply. Do you end up driving one wheel on ridge the whole time? Thanks

I presume you have a triple ridger. Yes, your right wheel will always be on a ridge.
That's the way, i would have done it any way, but I wasn't very good TBH. Just got the job done. Not very clean lines.

Jut put two pipes down and throw them down when your forming the ridge

We used to close the drills with a horse and drill plough years ago after opening them with the tractor.

was always exciting when the fella came to drop spuds here as I'd get to drop them on one side. Was only a wee fella maybe 8 or 9. Dropper had the bell.

Looked at it today There. A lot of spuds in the side of drills. Thinking of tying 2 pipes between the ridgers and have someone drop them down in. Any ideas for height of ground. Would 4 inch double skin soakaway pipe be ok??
