There is a thread in the Galway forum about a guy that flies a Paramotor around Galway. Does anyone know how a Paramotor is classified as in what regulations govern how it is flown ?

I was staying down in Galway over St Patrick's day and I seen a guy flying one of the beach in Salthill.

Ask the experts and regulators in the IAA.

    They scare me a little.

About 2 years ago I was on the Dublin to Belfast express train. We were on a nice speedy section somewhere around Balbriggan or Skerries when the train slowed down considerably for no apparent reason. A paraglider then came in to view to which the driver had obviously reacted.

How close are they allowed to fly to a running railway line ?

It wasn't an instructor & if it was then he was flying dangerously.

The responsible pilots need to report the irresponsible one's. Like the guy with the train & the one that I saw that nearly hit a bus.

Only a week ago a paramotor was flying after dark over Galway.
