So I hope I'm reading this incorrectly but hopefully someone can set me straight. I'm reading the DLR development contribution scheme for 2016-2020 and i see they have the usual contributions for roads, parks, and surface water which amounts to about 8.5k. It's a large some of money but is one that is expected and is manageable. However, I also see on their website (see below) that there are supplementary contributions of over 45k. Does this apply to one off housing? I hope not because if so nearly 55k in contributions makes this dream of building my own house in south Dublin completely unfeasible in the near future.

Have you factored in complying with their new Policy CC7
    the following is an extract
    DLR’s passive house policy
“All new buildings will be required to meet the passive house standard or equivalent, where reasonably practicable.
By equivalent we mean approaches supported by robust evidence (such as monitoring studies) to demonstrate their efficacy, with particular regard to indoor air quality, energy performance, comfort, and the prevention of surface/interstitial condensation.

I don't mean to be blunt but how is that relevant to development contributions?

On your point tho, i haven't seen that. My aim was to make every effort to get as close to Passiv standard but to fully attain it is, i think anyway, pretty unreasonable but i respect that the ceiling for efficiency should be raised for housing in Ireland. All triple glazing glass, thermal bridge free etc. are some things that will ramp up the cost. I would try and design as many into my house plans as possible but it obviously has to be within budget and in fairness, i will need to have a certain size house. I'll have to do more reading on this. Thanks

If you're located in the area shown on the map then the supplementary contribution applies. Have you checked thd exemptions to see if any apply?

Found the map. It's pretty large area but I'm hoping to stay outside it anyway. Thanks

We have just got planning in DLRCC. We only have the contributions of 9k ish. Nothing about the 45k thankfully! We also have to pay a bond of 1k to the parks department but hoping to get that back once we fulfill one of the specific greenery related conditions.
