Lock Recommendation

Did a search and couldn't find any lock threads in past while. Looking to get a second lock to have one at work and one at home. What's the current best bet balancing value and security? Guess I should be expecting to spend around € 50? More? Has anyone seen any good deals? Kryptonite Evolution seems to appear as popular on the usual CRC, Wiggle etc. Are the German sites good to pick up a cheap lock? Thanks!

I was advised to get ABUS Bordo Granit X-Plus - €130 in LBS, €90 on bike-discount.de - don't know how good they are though.

If it's going to live in work, get a Kryptonite New York or New York mini. Great lock if you don't have to carry it around.

New York Fahgettaboudit mini is a great lock, but you really need a proper bike rack and the ability to get pretty close to it.

I have a security skewer on the front wheel, so I don't lock that, a Kryptolok series 2 to secure the frame and the rear wheel and a Fahgettaboudit to secure the frame. Alternatively, I Sheldon the rear wheel with one lock and the frame with the other, if I can't get the bike into the right configuration for the other strategy.

I'm about to get a Abus Granit chain, but that's for the cargo bike I'm going to get in a few weeks.

I managed to picked it up for £39 a while back on amazon, that was a great price for it!

Been using the evolution locks myself in work and in the city centre for the last few years. No stolen bikes yet.

I use a big one and a mini for city centre locking.

It's a good sized lock and has got a Sold Secure Gold rating. I have it. As well as the kryptonite mini. As with the vast majority of locks, the only way you know they're ineffective is when you return to find your bike stolen. Thankfully my locks have been up to the job so far and my bikes are safely in my possession as I type this out!
