    Hi all,

I got a new car 131 reg a few weeks ago.. tax is up the end of April.. since I just became the new owner I don't think i'll get a PIN renewal in the post...

Do i have to go to tax office and pay in person... or is there a way to pay online / over the phone ?

Pin would be the last 6 digits of the reg certs serial number.

You can check ownership status here Once it changes you can go in person and tax it before logbook arrives.

I wouldn't go taxing it with last 6 digits of serial until ownership changes or the disc might get sent to previous owner.

The certs would have different serial numbers.
OP shouldn't have the old cert

Once the ownership changes there you can request a new PIN and tax online.

You can request pin also as said above, ive had to do it leads of time as brother is always loosing form he gets in post. takes an hour or less.

Main reason i went into tax office is to have disc asap.

Now that you have the new cert you don't need to request a new pin, the pin is the last 6 digits of the VRC number.
