Nissan 'flasher' unit

Nissan almera 2000 and hazard lights/indicators stopped working replaced the fuse but still no luck reading up suggests a new flasher unit might be needed or theres a break in the wire does anyone have any experience of this and is it a big deal to fix myself?

Looks like it's just a multiplug fitting that you release to change the relay.
