    Hi

I know this question has probably been asked a million times but I'm looking for 2016 costs.

Parents have a bit of land I can build on in Co Galway. First house etc

What would be the very rough costs of the paperwork out of the way ? e.g. Planning permission etc

I.e. How much would I need to set aside before I even think about the actual cost of building

5k to get planning complete. Then you may have to worry about structural drawings, supervision, BCAR, contributions, connections etc etc

So one could spend 5k trying to find out if they are allowed to build........and it could well be refused. Could potentially be looking at 5k down the drain essentially.

And then if it does get approved , you have all that other stuff then.

You could get outline planning to assess if full planning is possible. Would be cheaper.

Alternatively set up a meeting with the planners and your architect to try and gauge if they would look favourably on a full submission.
