Will Tiagra BR-4600 calipers work with ST-2400 shifters?

Looking to replace my brakes (sheared the bolt on my front caliper) - and was going to get some BR-4600 calipers. According to the Shimano compatibility chart they will work with my shifters.

However, the tech docs for the BR-4600 says they shouldn't be used with earlier STI levers as " otherwise the braking
performance provided will be much too strong" ?

Which should I believe - the compatibility chart or the BR-4600 tech doc?

Much too strong??? That's what everyone wants and you can fit updated pads which will offer better modulation that the standard brake blocks.

    They'll work just fine.
