Beware of white Christian men with guns

A Maine high school official who said the only terrorists Americans should fear are "domestic white 'Christian' men with easy access to guns" will not be fired, the school's superintendent told FoxNews.com Tuesday.
Piet Lammert, vice principal of Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport, posted the controversial remarks on his Facebook page, one day after a white lone gunman shot and killed three people and wounded nine others at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic on Nov. 27.
Days later, after a Muslim couple radicalized by ISIS gunned down 14 people in California, Lammert issued a second, lengthy apology for his comment on the social media site.

Swap white with any other race and swap Christian with any other religion and this man would have been fired it would have be huge news and he might well be facing prosecution.

Im not saying it's not a double standard but TBF he's not wrong, your 100x more likely to be killed in a mass shooting in the US by a white Christian man than a muslim man

It does not matter if we are talking about the USA Austria or the Java Republic we are only expressing our opinion if it's fair for people to get fired for expressing their personal opinion or not.

What would he have been prosecuted with? The first amendment makes it very difficult to prosecute a person for saying something.

What i find funny about Fox News is that they constantly mock the far left for their antics where somebody says something mildly offensive and they try and get that person fired, then as soon as the shoe is on the other foot, they try and get a teacher from Maine fired.

The far left and the far right are just as bad as each other.

she wasnt fired, she resigned in the end didnt she? Personally I would rather see democracy remove politicians, not parties and as her party ran on an anti - immigration agenda, I wouldnt have thought what she did was that surprising.

I think he is right.
School shootings seems to be predominantly by whites just as suicide bombings predominantly is muslims
In US schools shootings are much more common than suicide bombings, hence you're more likely to get killed by a white person than a muslim.

I dunno how many times this needs repeating, but clearly it does; Muslim is not a "race". It's a religion/philosophy/politics. There are white muslims and black christians.

Yes but there is a lot of White Christian males, will try find the post I read a while ago where someone looked at the ethnicity of mass shooters vs the % of the USA population, White Men are disproportiantely less likely to be mass shooters than other minorities. Will try find it or look up the figures myself but think the highest per pop was Native American Men

This might be similar to what you're looking for - puts Asians as highest per capita (5% of population, 9% of shootings).

With 81 mass shootings, use of percentages is a bit iffy in any case.

I think some of that is down to the prevalence of university shootings and the fact Asians are over represented in universities (relative to population share).
