    I'd ignore those reviews and would buy them, wouldn't be surprised if those reviews where from incompetent users.

    They seem too cheap tbh yet maybe worth a punt but I wouldn't be relying solely on these on a long cycle.

    Exactly, its not worth the effort when tubes are so cheap. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-road-5-pack-of-inner-tubes/ works out at €2 per tube. I've been running those for the last few years now, had more structural failures in the tubes when I ran continentals.
