Ford Focus Retainer Clips / Screws

    I have MK1 Ford Focus that has lots of clips/screws, securing things like the carpet in the boot and other bits of trim.

    They can be seen at the following address:

    They're a pain in the backside to get out though. Sometimes the screw just keeps spinning and spinning without coming out, and then sometimes I manage to tease it out - no idea how.

    Is there a special knack to getting these things out or are they just really badly designed??

    A prying tool is what you need to remove them. Although some may break as they get brittle with age.
