I recently rented and area of quality land (40 acres) hope to get hay in 30 acres was thinking of getting heifers for the rest, Been looking at heifers up to 300kgs and around the year old. Seen lighter ones seem badly fed for around €650 wondering would they ever recover enough to turn a few pound, was hoping to have them on grass from now and sell in October, land leased for 7 months. Any suggestions what stock to put out on it?

Whatever you do don't buy a poor animal. They will never thrive and you will end up losing money.
