but I'm sick to my back teeth of 'clickbait' threads. For god's sake, you don't write for Joe.ie or the Journal.

And if you do...God help us all.

It's just spelling out the inevitable bursting of the online advertising bubble. It turns out clicks don't mean anything and people never get their moneys worth out of online ads. As well as the rising number of people using adblock there will be a point where the non-existing correlation between visiting numbers and money spent, is found it'll all fall to pieces

I have a strong dislike for people using AdBlocks

Take Boards.ie for example. The owners of the site set it up a certain way (ads and all). What gives you the right to change that. If you want to use their website you should be prepared to do so as the creator intended.

People who share click bait material on social media are sub-human.

You know I never believed a person could make much from working from home but yet over the past two months I have made three thousand billion dollars from just five minutes work per day. You could too.

Good job, attempt a witty remake rather than actually address the point I made

The point you made is bullshít. Ad blocker hides ads and improves a user experience which is something that a lot of sites just don't care about when they plaster banner ads on it, it doesn't take a sites design and mangle it as you suggest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,434 ✭✭✭Robsweezie

What should be done away with is titles like:

    Do you think that....
    What happens when....
    What would you do if.....
    Why is it that...

Try to make it clear what you're referring to in the title.

I have a strong dislike for intrusive advertising. You can have a load of ads on the right hand side of your page if you want and my brain will tune them out, but having spent a load of time and energy getting your content into google search results so I can come to your site, I instantly get put off by an ad or form covering the content I am interested in, insisting I sign up for a newsletter, or subscribe to a twitter account or whatever. Thats the number one reason I use adblocking software.

And the second reason i use ad blocking software is to prevent malware.

The really annoying part is that they don't deliver, at least when you read Vice, there's an article that delivers on the click bait headline :D

I work in marketing, part of my job is designing display ads such as the ones on Boards.

I never ever see them because I have adblock installed.
