Cost landscaping small garden

    Hi all,

We have a semi-detached house with a small back garden. The drainage is quite poor and the house is on a hill (the right hand side of the garden as I look out the back door is higher than the left side and when it rains the left side of the garden gets soggy and horrible).

The garden itself is fairly plain and not in great condition. We are hoping to make it into a more usable space.

We got the following quote and just wondered if it appeared reasonable:

    a) 13msq sandstone patio - €1500
    b) 20msq synthetic lawn - €1100
    c) 12msq Block pave path - €750
    d) raise height of a small brick wall and pillar for privacy - €400
    e) paint boundary walls, garage + trellis and climbers - €500
    f) Raised country stone beds, plant bark and landscape fabric - €1450
    g) Skip - €130

    Total €5830

    Do these costs seem reasonable?

We have been advised that a synthetic lawn would be the best option from a drainage point of view. If we went with a natural lawn instead if would be €500 cheaper.
