Can't view videos iPhone 5

I am unable to view any videos I record on iPhone 5. I try to play but keep getting white symbol on screen rotating video does not play. Anybody else had this issue ?

Have you got optimise storage enabled in photos settings? I sometimes get the issue as well but never looked for a solution.
