Anyone know if there's something happening in the world of ginger beer lately? Haven't been able to find Ginger Joe or Crabbies anywhere for a while now around Cork. Used to see it them in a good few off licences and the odd bar but the last couple of months is been like gold dust.

If you're desperate for a fix, Martins Off Licence in Dublin do nationwide delivery for €6, and are showing several types of ginger beer in stock...

What part of Cork? Dunnes in mallow had plenty of crabbies at the weekend. And Lidl or Aldi (or maybe even both) stock it as well now.

Not seen any in Aldi's for months, Bishopstown or Grange would be usual ones I'd pick it up in. Dunnes is more expensive for a smaller bottle.
Lidi don't stock regular but may have from time to time. I've only ever seen the smaller bottle in lidi

OH is kinda partial to it

Dunnes in Douglas would typically have been where I'd get them but their supply was dwindling for a while and they've been out for a few weeks now. Never seen either of them in Tesco Douglas or Mahon, or in O'Brien's Douglas. Managed to pick up the last few in O'Donovan's Douglas but they're closing now so not going to restock and the O'Donovans in town had none either. Will have to give Lidl & Aldi a try alright now, wouldn't have thought of them.

I'm just surprised its so hard to find lately, think Crabbies was supposed to be sponsoring some big event recently in the UK so you'd have thought they'd have ensured everywhere was well stocked to take advantage of the advertising.

Their Irish distributors have changed. Ginger Joe used to be with Barry Fitzwilliam, and is now distributed through C&C Gleesons. They now have it, so you will start seeing it stocked again. Crabbies used to be with United Wine Merchants, but they don't have the agency for it anymore and we are unsure who has it now, so haven't been able to source it for a while now!

Dunne’s still have wychwood gingerbeard if that's any use, no idea if or when ginger joe will be back. It's still not listed, c&c reps haven't said anything about it.

I find crabbies to be sickly sweet ****e. Ginger Joe is perfect though. Hadn't seen any around lately so good to know it is with a new supplier. Hopefully they push it a bit more and start seeing it readily available.
Any chance of a general punter being able to order a few cases?

No, you'd have to get it through a shop.
