I've been collecting knifes for awhile now, I've always bought them in shops, I was looking at the Karambit for awhile and could never find one so I was wondering if I could have one shipped to Ireland to add to my collection and would anyone know a good online knife store to buy from

It's only a knife, not a sword so I guess you could*. You wouldn't want to be caught walking down O'Connell street with it though. Or if you do, you'd want to have a very good excuse.

*I know fcukall about the law so don't take my word for it.

One would assume, given this long term hobby, that you know the plural of knife is knives.

Had them shipped from abroad in the past, should be fine so long as it's a fixed blade one.

And since you're a frequent contributor to the legal forum, one would assume that you'd know the meaning of the term 'non sequiter'. For an example, see above.

Think as long as duty is paid, customs won't seize it. It's not illegal to import or own knives (normal knives that it.....no flick knives, hidden knives etc) but illegal to carry them without a lawful reason. I've purchased a few knives over the net and have had no problems. I hunt, fish and camp and use fixed blade knives regularly but will not carry it with me when I'm going shopping or going out for a pint. A bit of cop on is important :)

Best of luck with your purchase - nice looking piece of kit.
