Hi, I've been on a Tús scheme for the past year and I finish on Friday. I've been told I need to restart my JSA claim by bringing down a letter from my liason officer and 6 months worth of bank statements, and I will then need to make another appointment with my social welfare office for afterwards. Does this make sense to anyone else? Has anyone else went through this?

Also, will I have to wait for my JSA payment or will it be there next week? It's proving impossible to get answers off of either my liason or the company I'm working for.

    Thank you.

I was on Tus about 2 years ago and believe me when I say I heard all the horror stories too!

All you have to do is go to your SW office with your letter of Tús completion,ID and your 6 months of bank statements which should have your tús payments for each week.

They gave me a renewel of JA form and told gave me an appointment to return the form, I think it was about 2 days. When I handed the form back they gave me a letter there and then with my approval and 1st payment date.

Trust me it's a painless excercise! Don't worry about all these horror stories of being put straight on another course or getting a drilling from an officer. You'll be fine!

When I finished on Tus (May 2014), all I had to do was hand in the completion letter to the local welfare office, fill in the renewal of JA form and they took it from there. Got a letter in the post stating the date of first payment of JA at the post office. Had my payment up and running from the Tuesday week after handing in the form. I was never asked for any bank statements, but some welfare offices clearly do ask for them. As the previous poster said, you'll be fine!
