    Hi all,
    I have a c4 grand picasso 2010.
Change brake pads in front a few months back.. perfect , pedal hard.
However CHANGED REAR and the pedal has a long travels / soft.
It does stop car but needs to be mindful.
Jacked car again and rotate the wheel, stopped the wheel and releases the wheel when pedal released.
    Fluid level correct.
    No leeks either.
    Hand brake working perfectly.
Have drove approx 25 miles since
Any reason why so soft or does it take time to bed in?
    Thanks for you replies

It shouldn't be soft, perhaps air in the system. Take it to a pro if in doubt.

    Thank Alan,
Never opened the bleed screws, so unlikely theres air in system or never allowed resivor to run out.
    Take your point though. thanks

A possible cause is if your disks were a bit worn, the pads mightn't have taken up their shape yet and are bending when you apply pressure.

If this is the case it should rectify by approx 100 miles (unless disks completely knackered). If no improvement, suspect there is air in the system.

I had a similar issue with my jeep. I changed the pads and there was a bit of travel in the pedal. After 100 or so miles it was OK. They do usually take a while to bed in but best be careful and have them checked just in case there is an issue.

You may have turned a seal inside out when depressing the caliper cylinder, take it to a Pro my man, be safe,
    Tell him it's your wife's

    Thanks for all the replies.
Took to garage , explained it all, coulddnyt see anything done incorrectly .
Booked in to garage for 2 days later.
However went back again and checked pistons turned to correct position (pin)and they were.
Re Bleed again after hard braking to ensure ABS engages. bingo ....AIR.
    perfect since
    Thanks to all

If You didn't open the bleed screws on the calipers, when you forced the piston back it turned the seal or seals inside out at the Master Cylinder
