Wii U game pad not working

    Hi folks, my sons gamepad has suddenly stopped working

    The blue light is on to suggest it's fully charged, but the home and power buttons are doing nothing at all

    I have followed troubleshooting steps to no avail and tried to re sync with the console. But there is no life in it at all

    I can only assume it is dead. Is this a common problem?

    It is over one year old so out of warranty. What do you recommend? Will Nintendo still repair for a fee? Or does anyone know of good console repair shops in Ireland?

    I notice I cannot just buy a new gamepad which I find quite odd
