Is it possible to buy new wing panels painted here in Ireland from bodyshops etc? Asking because it can be done in UK and you obviously have them fitted yourself..

Thanks tigger, ive heard that before but it is really necessary. It wouldn't really bother me if there was a slight difference in sunlight..if i was to buy something like the panels below would the difference in shade be very noticeable?

You could get big differences. Paint fades, and who knows if there has been a previous repair on surrounding panels.

If the car is fairly new then not getting it blended in will affect its resale value. If the car is old and not worth much then you might as well just get a second hand panel from a scrapped car in the same colour then.

Yeah car is a 04 Audi A4, almost impossible to find a used wing on them cars thats not rusted as they have a design issue with the arch lining that leads to rust eating away the wings.

Cheers for the advice regarding blending in guys. I was just reading on Audi-sport.net aswell that I will never get the paint match correct with them Ebay panels without the car going for painting at a bodyshop.

Is it possible to buy panels un-painted from motor factors here in Ireland (Cork) so I can fit myself and then bring the car to the bodyshop to save a few bob, are the panels any good in comparison to genuine panels?

Spurious panels are readily available from any motor factor but are a very poor fit and made from very poor quality steel. Keep looking for a secondhand one is my advice!

Price it new in a main dealer too. Might not be outrageous money.

    Spurious €60 ex VAT
    Genuine €200 ex VAT

    A big difference!

Genuine €200 + vat! Jaysus! factor in fitting and paint also for both wings, it would be around a third of the cars current value!

Samora stock both OEM and spurious body panels, they're very handy. Try PR Reilly out by Pauladuff!

aIIRC A4 bumpers are a pain to line up at the best of times, the wings would want to be spot on.

That wing looks to have been painted before, can't tell 100% but looks a bit orange peely over the wheel.

Possibly colm, the black is a disaster. A few panels on her need to get a coat of fresh paint because of some deep scratches etc, thats why im trying to keep costs down a bit by fitting wings myself, along with the panels i want to get the alloys refreshed and coated in audi titanium L8AU...

Ah that' doesn't look too bad. Grind it back and see what's left.

A body shop would do a good enough repair on that, for less than 150 all in painted , it's not structural , so a bit of fiberglass and filler will last long enough for the life of an 04 car, or if you insist they could weld a bit of metal into it , this would be preferable to a spurious wing.
